HELLO!!!!!

Wow – How refreshing it is to take a BREAK! I decided to give up social media for lent this year, and I guess my blog was a victim as well! We are still here enjoying our time back in SC and loving the thought that we have a whole summer to enjoy and not fit in a MOVE for once!

I really enjoyed my break. And during my break I had a lot of time to think – probably too much (and if you heard a loud “boom” that was me over here!). So after much thought and consideration, I have decided to slow down my already slowed down schedule…. so the blog posts may become few and far between. It has taken me a while to make the jump off the fence, but at this season of our lives, my business needs to be mommy and not photographer. If you want to keep up with me, like my business page on FB and I will try my best to post frequently and stay witty DHP is not gone forever, just for an indefinite while.

I have still been shooting for a few friends in my break time! First up are a few of sweet miss M – a sweet surprise addition to this wonderful family!

4 years after sitting in the same spot for big sister, I had the honor of photographing Baby C #2! I absolutely love being able to see my client families grow over the years. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the C family. Love you to pieces!!

I cannot believe it has been 4yrs since I ran into Momma C at Moe’s. My middle one was just a babe and she was expecting little miss M. We have had a few sessions since then (like this one) and I’m so glad we were able to fit in another maternity session before the due date next month! It was a beautiful, warm night and we were lucky to catch a gorgeous sunset before we packed up.

I cannot wait to meet their new little girl in a few weeks!!

Identical – 26 days – South Carolina Newborn Twin Photography

Sometimes the sayings are true – Good things definitely come to those who wait! (Or rather those that have tried really really hard to get something!!). The T twins arrived just before the end of the year and I was finally able to meet them in Charleston this weekend. Now that I think about it – they are my first set of identical twins! It was so fun to play the guessing game of which one I was holding…. fun for me of course, probably not so much for mom and dad at 3am .

Their baby shower theme was “Thing 1 & Thing 2″ so when I saw these hats, I just had to get them!

Today is January 12, 2012 – and I have a big announcement!

This year I will be taking a limited number of sessions – twelve to be exact. It will hopefully be the first year in 3 years that we will live in the same town from New Years to Christmas! We are settling back into SC nicely, but the past few years have been like a whirlwind. After looking back on the last year of my OWN photos, I realized how fast it went by and how much of it I spent away from my kids or behind my desk. I love every single one of you and I feel so blessed that you chose me to document your families, but I have come to the point where I need to slow down and focus on these little boys that call me “Mom” (yes, even the 2yr old is so grown he doesn’t say “momma” anymore! *tears*). Since we don’t know what the future holds and where we will be in the years to come, I have to focus on making my family as happy as can be right here and right now.

A few spots have already been filled, so if you are interested in a 2012 session, don’t wait to book!

Sometimes things work out just right. Before we left Columbia in ’09, I took big sister’s newborn portraits. When we found out we were moving back to SC, mom had just announced she was expecting baby #2! It is always fun to see a family grow and also see the kids grow. Thank you for letting me capture this special time in your lives!

Miss C is such a wonderful big sister already! She really LOVES her new baby brother.

There are many things I loved about our time in VA. Meeting the M family was one of them. Sweet miss A has grown so much even since her last session in the spring. She is such a happy baby!!

Thank you for letting me document her first year. It has been a treasure to watch her grow!

Miss A was named after her grandfather who always wore this hat. We also used it for her newborn session last year.

If you had asked me a year ago, where we would be today. I would have said with confidence that we would be right where we were – no move in sight. Yet here we are, a year later, back in SC. A few of my clients from VA were due for photos and since our move was sudden and unexpected, I made plans to come back this fall to catch the 1yr mark for two of my sweet newborns and also got to meet up with sweet mister E again! Fall in VA is just breathtaking and one thing I miss…. of course the snow expected for this weekend isn””t missed!

Mister E is up first. He”s grown so much since our session last year.

Get ready for cuteness overload with these three cute kiddos! I””ll give them each their own post b/c they are just too cute to pack into one! ;)

I love meeting so many first time parents. They are so excited and overjoyed with their new little baby, and the whole experience of it all. Not that you aren”t when you have more than one, it is just different. L&N are such a great team and great parents already. I”m so lucky I was able to meet them and capture this part of their new lives as parents!
