I’m Danielle.

I have been teaching the art of newborn photography to professional photographers since 2013, both in-person and online. I started Simple & Pure Newborn Workshops in 2018 as a way to help photographers develop their artistic vision, capture photographs that convey genuine emotions, and elevate their business success.

I am passionate about sharing my creative process and teaching you how to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the moment, in order to capture meaningful connections and create an authentic experience that resonates with your clients. I currently run a multi-6 figure business with real clients and I want to help you do the same!

Studio workshop details

day 1

We will start day 1 in the afternoon with a styled maternity or family session at an outdoor location. A group dinner is encouraged after the photoshoot. This portion of the workshop is not required but encouraged. Try to plan travel accordingly. 

day 2 & 3

8am – 5pm
We’ll start with discussion on setting up, lighting and styling. We will work through posing and lighting with a stand in baby and live newborn models. Lunch is provided and group dinner is encouraged. Editing will be covered after model sessions and open question time to wrap up. 

the logistics

My studio is located in an historic building in the small town of The Plains, VA. The closest airport is Dulles, but Reagan is an option as well. Plan to uber or arrange to get a rental car with other attendees. Airbnb or VRBO are the best options for local places to stay in town. Nearby chain hotels are located in Haymarket & Gainesville, VA.  We will visit local restaurants for dinners and order food in to the studio for lunches.

Located in the quaint and historic Hunt Country of Northern Virginia, my studio provides a peaceful setting and the perfect amount of natural light. You’ll gain experience photographing in a variety of lighting environments, both indoors & outdoors. The studio not only has a neutral white studio room, but also charming historic rooms with window seats, a stone patio with steps and beautiful greenspace for outdoor opportunities.

They will walk you through a workflow on how to achieve relax posing using very minimum props and wraps. The style and simplicity is so timeless. The amount of images you can get from just a few poses creates a photo gallery. They are open books and full of knowledge. They make everyone feel comfortable and are willing to help you achieve the style and look you are wanting.
