I”m trying to be better about taking and posting pictures of my own kids….
Here are a few I took of B the other day. Just for fun
I like having a willing model that doesn”t run or make crazy faces!
We are preparing for the future around here….. hopefully I can announce things soon!! Stay tuned! (and no — it’’s not another baby!!)

So apparently “the bug” is going around! We have been stuck in the house a few days between the cold snaps and sick tummies…. After a few reschedules due to sick kiddos on both sides, I was able to get out and meet little miss H on Monday. We had a great session and I got to use a few of my pretty new things for girls!
Aren”t sweet baby smiles the best!?

“here comes peter cotton tail…. Easter’’s on its way!”

I have a confession…. I”m obsessed!!
#1 – Food Processor – I love the sound (how it drowns out all the crazy of a house with three boys under 5)…. I love creating yummy things for those crazy boys (yesterday oreo balls, today baby food)… and I love seeing it anything I put in there beaten to a pulp!!! HA!
#2 (but highest on the list) – This little guy’’s face – I mean how can you resist that!?! I am so lucky. He is the sweetest baby ever and so easy going. He still doesn”t sleep 12hrs, but I”m really relishing my cuddles from my little nursling at 4am. Poor guy is teething and just wants his momma
Tonight he enjoyed chewing on a mesh food teether full of whole bananas while I blended up a batch of homemade baby food. I never had the motivation to do it before, but I wasn”t about to throw out 3 bananas and a sweet potato when my friend the food processor could make a yummy meal for B!!
So here is a peek into our evening… B, the food processor and me!

Last night I had the pleasure to meet with the L family and finally meet their sweet little boy S! Dad is in class with my husband at the Air Force school here in Montgomery. Mom and S stayed home while Dad is here, so it has been a tough separation for the 10 month program! I”m glad we were able to meet up on one of their visits and get pictures of them all together and of S at this age. He’’s 20 months old and has plans of his own! He certainly was in charge of this session!
Enjoy!

This week I came across yet another story of a family in need of prayers for one of their kids… linked from another mother dealing with the loss of her baby boy. No parent should ever have to deal with even the possibility of their child dying, much less the harsh reality of losing a child. I have too many (even one is too many, but sadly, I know more than one) close friends that have had to face that reality. It breaks my heart over and over again…. and each time I see these stories, I try to hold my little ones tighter, squeeze longer and soak in every piece I can of them while they are here on this earth with us.
So I stopped saying “I”ll do it tomorrow” and had a little photoshoot with the boys the other day… I don”t want to forget one single thing about them at this age and their bond… it was very last minute and nothing fancy… but that’’s fitting b/c that’’s our life! It is sad that being a photographer, my own kids have as little pictures as they do… I NEED to be better about this. It is going by so fast and I don”t want to look back 10yrs from now (or even 10 months, days, minutes) and regret the little things I missed – in pictures or in life!

Sadly, today marks 3 years that the superprincess left this world. Through most of these tragedies, there are lessons learned. Sheye requested that this be reposted – hopefully sparing another family this pain.

Please continue to pray for all of these families and the families you know (feel free to post links in the comments section – everyone in this situation can use more prayers!).
My last session of the weekend was with a new client. Being so far away, I wasn”t able to do her newborn session at under 2 weeks, but mom was awesome and waited for me
Miss L is 3 months and was such a good little girl – she stayed awake when we wanted her to and slept when we wanted her to! We were lucky to be able to use the home of their friend – who happens to be an amazing designer — so my head was spinning with ideas!! It was so much fun – mom was on the same page and could see my wheels turning!
J & D – Thanks for being so much fun! It was great to meet you and your sweet little girl!

While I was in SC, I drove down to Charleston to photograph little mister D. He is my first bride baby — I photographed mom & dad’’s wedding back in 07! He is the first baby from one of my past brides. I just love watching their family grow and I”m so honored they chose me again to capture such an important time in their lives!

As I said – I have a lot of blogging to do from this past weekend… so let’’s get started!
Last time I saw little D was at his newborn session. I moved shortly after and this weekend Mom and I were finally able to set a time together to get more pictures. The outlook was rainy, so we decided to go inside and try somewhere – I loved shooting in this building downtown and will definitely be going back!
D’’s first tooth just broke through so I was so happy I got a few with “chippy” poking through
Mom & Dad – it was great to see you again! Enjoy!

This weekend we drove back up to SC for some visiting and sessions… I have so many wonderful clients in SC – it’’s hard to not want to go back every weekend for “work” (it’’s not work b/c I love it so much!). So instead, I cram all that I can into one weekend every few months (I”ll be back again in April – let me know if you are interested. I”m almost completely booked, but may be doing a mini session). SO… After three sessions and a much needed night out with my friends, we are back home!
I have a lot of blogging to do about sessions, but I just have to post about these delicious cookies. My best friend and her SIL have started a cookie company (well, not just cookies – they do cupcakes too). M.Bee’’s Cookies makes THE MOST delicious cookies you will ever taste. They are iced sugar cookies, but they aren”t just plain old sugar cookies… You almost have to taste them to believe it. TO.DIE.FOR. Of course since we just started the new year, I, along with 1/2 of the population, have been eating better and trying to lose some LB’’s… so I planned out my week and saved up for these!! They are that good! I photographed these for their website…. and I”ll just say now that I don”t mind being paid in cookies!
So – if you have any parties coming up or need a special gift for someone (or just want to eat them alone on the sofa!)…. Give them a call! They cover Charleston and Columbia, but also ship anywhere in the country!!
